For the past few months the Lord has been speaking to me clearer than ever. I have sensed that He been asking me to simply “Be still and KNOW”. So, I have been doing just that. I have rested in the fact that I know that He is good, He is faithful, He loves me, He will provide for me, and the list goes on and on.

However, in the past week, He has laid a new verse on my heart. Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still.” It’s as though He is telling me that “In the past I told you to simply ‘know’, and now I’m going to reveal exactly what you should know.”

Sometimes we can get so caught up in the moment and trying to understand the “why” behind our struggles, but sometimes, the Lord wants us to only be still.

Now, I will be the first to admit that this is extremely hard when we are unable to see the entire picture surrounding our circumstances. So, for the past few months, I have been focusing more on who God is rather than what God is doing. It’s much more peaceful that way- believe me!

The promise shown to me last week was Him revealing what He is doing- He is fighting for me, on my behalf. This is a precious promise! Since I have already been focused on WHO He is, now I have no doubt in my mind that He is capable to fight for me! He was preparing my heart in the past so I would trust Him  when He ultimately gave me this promise.

The other amazing thing I have noticed through all of this, is that right now, in my situation, I see nothing happening- and when I say nothing, I mean literally nothing! So exactly when, in my flesh, I needed reassurance that I will, in fact, be okay and that my situation can be overcome; He reminds me to still be still with the reassurance that He loves me He’s fighting for me behind the scenes.

I am so looking forward to seeing what He does with this as time progresses. I am anticipating a God-moment where you can’t help but realize “Wow! My God did that for me!”

What is your situation today where you feel hopeless? I want to remind you that He is fighting for you- just be still. When you don’t know what to do or what to think, rest in WHO He is. I’ve heard it said that instead of telling God how big your problems are, tell your problems how big your God is. So, let’s do that this week- let’s tell our problems that they don’t stand a chance because our God is fighting for us!

  1. I feel God does the same thing for me, showing me he is doing something that i can’t see just yet. When we turn to God as our helper…he helps! Just not in our timing or how we think he should lol but then i see it and i know…the hand of God has been moving all along.

  2. that’s crazy I was just reading something similar about how we need to just enjoy the ride and just be still for a moment to recognize all the things we’re doing. Time is so valuable and when we are still there’s nothing better to know that He is right there with us working silently. Thank you for sharing. -Jocelyne from

  3. I love how you mention focusing on what God is doing rather then who He is. I had the complete opposite lightbulb moment a few weeks ago when studying Hannah. I’m so caught up in thanking Him for the things He does that I’ve forgotten how to praise God for who He is. I can’t wait to go back to Hannah’s prayer and really dig into her example. 🙂

I’ll be praying for you during this waiting period in your life. I am sure that you are correct with anticipating a, “Wow” moment.
